The Thurlby Village Run
The Thurlby 10k Road Race and the 3k fun race is organised each year by a group of volunteers.
The races are usually held on the first Sunday in July. The races start at 10:15 with a 3k fun run around the centre of the village, this is followed by the main event the 10k road race around the local villages of Thurlby, starting with a climb up Swallow Hill out of the village and returning into Thurlby via Obthorpe Lane after passing through the villages of Manthorpe, Wilsthorpe and Obthorpe.
Any money raised from the races goes towards the youth groups in the village; these are the local primary school and the scout troop.
The races rely on additional volunteers to help on the day to marshal the course, provide drink stations and steward race finishers.
The races start and finish at Lawrance Park.
